HER Story

My name is Vanessa — and fashion has been part of my story for as long as I can remember.
Since April 2000, I’ve lived and breathed the world of design, spending over 25 years creating garments for some of South Africa’s most loved retail brands, including Legit, Edgars, and Truworths. But titles and store names were never the dream — women were.
Behind every seam, cut, and silhouette, I was learning something deeper: what makes a woman stand taller, feel seen, and move through the world with confidence. I learned that true style isn’t about trends — it’s about how a piece makes you feel when you put it on.
HER Closet was born from that understanding.
This brand is for the woman who wants to feel powerful without trying too hard. For the woman who embraces her body, her softness, her strength — and her imperfections.
